Deliverables
The Expert Volunteer will submit the following deliverables:
b. New ideas and innovations that might be useful for successful execution of the exercise.
c. Review and comment on similar exercises conducted by the OCGS and
d. Recommendations on foreseen challenges that ENGINE should be conscious of.
The Expert Volunteer will submit a Final Trip Report to the ENGINE Program that includes the following sections:
A. Introduction;
B. Methodology/approaches
C. Recommendations on how best ENGINE could utilize OCGS’s technical resources and experience to ensure that the baseline survey achieves its objectives.
D. An analysis of OCGS’s available data analysis tools and technical skills and knowledge to be able to apply the available tools.
Additionally, the Expert Volunteer will provide exit debriefings to the OCGS, and ENGINE/USAID.
The Expert Volunteer will also perform remote work following their return from Tanzania, to perform tasks related to the rollout of the Business Formalization Baseline Survey that will be implemented in Zanzibar.
Expert Volunteer Qualifications
The ideal survey data collection, analysis and report writing specialist will have the following skills and qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience working within developing country government statistical institutions, preferably in an organizational development support, training, mentoring or coaching role, in the areas of data analysis, reporting and training;
• Track record of developing sound research proposals and conducting large scale business baseline surveys, preferably in a developing country;
• Excellent quantitative and/or qualitative research skills;
• Understanding of and ability to operationalize a range of research and evaluation methodologies and methods;
• Self-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, mature, professional team player, who is a strong people person and communicator, with good inter-personal skills;
• Ability to address issues, challenges, questions, and concerns in a professional, respectful, logical, and timely manner;
• Works well in a multi-cultural setting;
• Well-developed writing skills in English and the ability to express yourself clearly and concisely;
• Good computer skills in MS Office.
